A completely revamped course using the beautiful Greenway to Turlough and a bike route on the quite roads around Parke and Pontoon, this new course is suitable for all abilities.
The Castlebar Adventure Duathlon course is now longer at 39 km but is considerably flatter than its predecessor, with no booster mountain to climb, no Rathbawn hills to cycle making the new course a lot more forgiving.
There is only one distance this year for individuals and relay teams who have proven to be very popular throughout the series.
The event will start at 10 am and finish at Springfield playground around 11.30 am.
The beautifully laid out playground is a perfect setting with vast open space for spectators to take in the electric atmosphere of the event, children can play in the safety of a closed in environment while parents can watch the action.
The first run takes in part of the new Greenway to Turlough, then after 2.5k a sharp turn left uphill takes participants onto the old Turlough rd finishing back at the Springfield playground using Rowan drive.
The cycle course is pretty flat with the odd hill; the route starts at Rowan drive turning right for Turlough, left for Parke before returning via the Pontoon rd and Rowan drive to transition at Springfield playground.
The last run is 5k out and back course on the Greenway to Turlough turning at the N5 Tyre Centre and finishing back at the Springfield playground.
