Wild Mayo Ultra Returns This Weekend – Ireland’s Premier Endurance Cycling Challenge

Westport, Co. Mayo – The Wild Mayo Ultra, one of Ireland’s most thrilling endurance cycling events, kicks off this Friday, May 30th, promising a weekend of intense competition, breathtaking landscapes, and unmatched camaraderie among ultra cyclists from across Ireland and beyond.

The event begins on Friday evening with the 500km route, as seasoned endurance athletes prepare to take on the demanding loop that winds through Mayo’s iconic terrain – including coastal cliffs, rolling farmlands, and the majestic Nephin and Partry mountain ranges.

On Saturday morning, the action continues from the Clew Bay Hotel, James Street, Westport, with the 300km riders setting off at 7:00 AM, followed by the 200km participants at 9:00 AM. All routes start and finish in the vibrant town of Westport, recently voted one of the best places to live in Ireland.

With each route offering its own challenges and scenic highlights, the Wild Mayo Ultra is a test of endurance, strategy, and mental toughness. Riders will pass through landmarks such as Achill Island, Ballycroy National Park, and the Wild Atlantic Way, making this not only a race but a journey through some of Ireland’s most spectacular natural beauty.

The Wild Mayo Ultra is proudly supported by Mayo County Council, Westport Bike shop,The Clewbay hotel and Marrey Bikes and is supported by a passionate team of volunteers. Spectators are encouraged to follow the live trackers and give these endurance athletes a big clap and a cheer as they push their limits in this epic adventure.
