Hollymount wheelers win Titanic battle

After 9 rounds of the Bridge Signs Ireland West Duathlon  spread over 5 months the men and women from the Saucer village in South Mayo finished off their quest for victory with an outstanding display in the final round at Cong to push Liquid Motion Ballina into second place. The Ballina based club can be more than proud off their showings as they were at times without some of their regulars top stars but this didn’t hinder them too much … they only finished 69pts behind which meant the last race was so important. in 3rd was  Westport Leisure park have and they have to be  the squad of the series showing up at each round with huge numbers their most been 47 members at one event; Big kudos to you guys.. they also had athletes who improved immensely over the 9 round series and should score highly in the most improved category…  AM Multisport Westport were also in the hunt for a while as were Western Lakes CC

The club / Team category pushed squads to field as many members as possible so they had a better chance of scoring highly. 5 results were taken and accumulated per squad, It made adding the points a nightmare as the 3 best males or 2 best males and relay team along with their 2 best female  results were counted… Having ladies score highly at each event was crucial.
