Cavan man beats the Giants
land of the giant Duathlon results
Over 300 athletes took to the start line for the 8th edition of the run, bike, run event.
The first run of 5.5k Turned into a ding dong battle between Michael Reilly Shercock AC Cavan and Anthony Murray MultiSport Westport, the Cavan man eventually extending a lead in the bike stage to secure a big win…
The ladies race was one way traffic with Swinford’s sensation Maeve Gallagher opening huge lead on the field to win comfortably.
As always age group categories proved great excitement with some fantastic battles. Galway took most of these with Cillian Dooley Galway city harriers winning the over 40 men and Maggie Vahey Galway Tri winning the ladies.
In the over 50’s local man David Delaney Annagh Wheelers took the laurels with Deirdre Dillion Tirconaill AC Donegal taking the ladies.
The evergreen Pauline Moran Grainne Uaile Tri Newport was the leading Over 60 with Michael Cusack Westport Leisure park taking the men’s.
