Variety

There’s something for everyone at Run Mayo in Ballinrobe, with distances ranging from 5km to a 31mile ultra-marathon. There’ll also be races for the kids in the afternoon. Starting with the longer distances at 9am there’s a full day of running and activities to enjoy in.

It’s Fast

For those looking to set a new personal best over their desired distance, the race course is almost completely flat, with a smooth tarmac surface, making it ideal for taking on your current personal best times.

Added to the course itself, you’ll have the buzz of passing the grand stand on each of the mile laps, giving you further motivation to keep the pace up.

Support

The entire course is visible from the stand. This means family and friends will be able to track your progress throughout the whole race and support you on each lap, added to the fun festival atmosphere, you will get a pep in your step each time you approach the grandstand.

Pacing

The Ballinrobe racecourse is exactly one  mile in circumference, in an oval shape, and is nearly pan flat, with a smooth tarmac surface. The one mile lap will make it much simpler for runners of all distances to pace themselves for their desired time for their chosen race  distance

Added to this, you’ll be able to see a full breakdown of your lap times post-race as the timing chip records each lap, giving the data-lovers amongst you a further insight into your racing and pacing.

No Worries

With a feed station located on track, your food and hydration needs are all taken care of for your race. You’ll be able to refuel and re-hydrate each lap if required and stop for a chat with our volunteers if needed,  for those of you looking to complete  the distance rather than compete for a time.

Atmosphere

With a variety of running distances catering for all abilities, alongside the markets and expos on display, Run Mayo is a great day out for all the family.
