Registration
Sign on at Marrey bikes, Watson’s lane, Ballinrobe on Friday Feb 10th from 5 pm to 8 pm and Saturday Morning from 7.30 am to 9 am only. We will have 3 Que’s based on Surname, so please select right Que.
At Sign on, collect your timing chip and 2 race numbers one for your bike the other to be worn on the front of your jersey or top (use pins), the other number is to be put on the bike (adhesive), this helps us at Transition, it also helps if bikes are similar color etc. We have some free Goodies for the first 350 that sign on, there is a Huge crowd participating so allow time to get signed in and collect your bits.
Relay Teams: Only the runner needs to sign on for the 2 person team. On the day the runner wears the Number on their front and timing chip on their ankle, in Transition at Teams area the timing chip gets passed over to the cyclist, when the cyclist has their 17k done they come back into to Transition and pass the chip over to the runner who completes the last run.
Bike racking
(Start, Transition and Finish area) this area will be open from 8am at Abbey street car park (Outside Abbey Tyres). Please rack your bike in designated area for your number.
Car parking, best to park around the back of Marrey bikes (Don’t block unit doors) follow the signs and the marshals as we want to keep car park spaces at Abbey St. Remember to collect your bike after you finish, please bring your race number for ID purposes. This area closes at 12.15pm sharp as we have to clear it to allow for carparking.
- Race briefing, at 9.45 am at the Transition area in Abbey St.
- Race Starts at 10 am sharp.
Toilets available at Abbey St beside Transition in O Neill’s bar.
The route
5.3k Run
The start line will be outside the old Ulster Bank at the top of Bridge St, fast downhill turning right for High St, the run is rectangular in shape and is very flat. The second right turn is at 3k and again at 3.3k onto the Cloongowla rd, stay on the right hand side of the road, follow signs to Transition in Abbey St.
At Transition: first put on your helmet before you lift your bike, walk out to the road side to Mount your bike before getting on your bike. Keep your eyes open and be aware of the traffic
17k Cycle
Follow roads arrows straight for 5k veer left at Cloonacastle for Robeen at Robeen cross roads, turn left for Ballygarris 700 m later, turn left for Ballinrobe via Cloongowla. When approaching the town beware you are in a built up area and traffic can come from any direction, when you get to the Dismount sign GET OFF your bike and walk into Transition and rack your bike at the same place where you took it from.
Please obey the rules of the road and the rules of the sport. Ride Safely !!
No iPods
TI rules apply (No drafting on the cycle) Motor Bike marshaling in place !!
3.8k Run
From transition run/walk into Brewery court follow arrows signs up and onto the Creagh road, keep left on the footpath, left on to Bowers walk keeping river on the right, back to Brewery court finishing at Abbey St.
At the Finish
Please hand back your timing chip…! €20 fee if you don’t.
We have water, fruit and some jellies at the finish Marquee for everyone.
Those who win a prize, please stay around as we are taking pictures there for the local papers so we need you in your race kit. This will be done at the podium area. Guys we are always doing our best to keep Mayo towns clean so leave “No Trace ” put all rubbish into the bins provided.

Overall results
A draft version of the results will be available so we can announce the prize winners at Marrey Bikes Watson’s lane from 12.45 pm, once everyone is finished.
The full results and stage breakdown will be posted here and on our Facebook page.
We will have some light refreshments for the prize winners at Marrey bikes.

Showers
Will be available at the Lakeside Leisure centre on Station rd (Kilmaine rd) directly after the event closes at 1pm.
Celebration
There will be a massive event after party from 9.30pm in Costello’s Bar Abbey St Ballinrobe, where race photos and video footage will be shown on the night, see event page for details. Everyone invited so come along and enjoy the night.
